From Faith comes Freedom

So often, we don’t realize the magnitude of our freedoms until we take a day to remember them. After that day, typically we continue about our lives and get lost in the hustle and bustle, the meeting at 8 am, this project due by Wednesday, and the “I need to go to the store & get the ingredients for dinner.” We forget that people died so that we could freely speak, freely write, and freely worship. We forget until someone reminds us. Or we know that people gave the ultimate sacrifice, but we file it into a folder in the back of our ever racing minds & seldom think about it until someone brings up the topic.

Sometimes it’s like that with Jesus. We go go go and we forget he DIED. To free us from sin. To free us from an eternity of death, despair, disaster & dread. God sent a branch of himself, His son, to die. To be pinned to a cross and for him to carry the weight of everything we’ve done wrong, every sin we’ve ever committed. He did that for you. For me. For every person who has walked, does walk, and will walk on this earth.

This Fourth of July, I want to encourage you to not only remember the freedoms we’re blessed with in this country, but the freedoms that we have in Christ Jesus. The freedom to not worry about tomorrow, the freedom to share about his glory & the salvation he brings, and the freedom to live eternally when we believe in Him. Seek Him, and you will find Him.
Happy Fourth babes!

  1. Being able to be a Christian and proclaim our faith is such an incredible freedom that can be underestimated at times!
